Yesterday was October 1st...D's big day

Yesterday was October 1st(big D's b-day) at our house. Ryan's big brothers wedding is on the real October 1st so we decided to make the big day come a few days early ....Before I get to the events of the day I have to say I LOVE THIS KID! He is the sweetest, most loyal, most tender kid who has the best memory and so much personality. I love how every night before he goes to sleep he tells Ryan and I that he is going to be with us forever and he is glad Heavenly Father let us be his parents. I can't imagine life without Dallas in it, Happy 5th birthday big D!

Now on to the day's festivities:) We started out with the annual treasure hunt for his presents. Ryan's Mom used to always do that when he was little and it is such a cute tradition. Ryan spent forever coming up with all the clues. It is hard to find rhyming words late at night:)

Big D was superman for awhile

and Batman for awhile. (he kept saying, "batman never smiles" and while he was batman he didn't either.)
We went to his favorite spot for lunch, he calls it Pig restaurant.

I took some 5 year old pics of him

and then we had his party. We had to tie this balloon to Dylan's belt loop so we could see where he was going. It worked very well and kept him entertained for the full 3 hours.

Dallas and his best buddies
Dylan focusing on the pizza

Dax is always there to take care of Grady and Dylan.

Can you tell D was happy:)

I never got a good shot of all the kids and all the adults....the peter piper hostess wasn't great with a camera, and I guess neither was I. Dang!

Aunt Terri and Uncle J.T. came and D was so excited(J.T. is the one getting married on the real Oct.1st)

It was a great day....Love you Dallas!!

lucky again!!!!!

So, remember my last post where I won $500 on a scratcher on Friday......well today I went into the grocery store to order Dallas' birthday cake and I walked by the scratcher machine and thought "why the hell not" and I bought the same scratcher I won on Friday. I put it in my purrse and headed to my car. I scratched off all the numbers and it was not looking good...I got to the very last square and scratched off a winning number.....and I won $1000 dollars!!!!!!!!! I just got back from the AZ lottery office where they cut me my check and the best news is 1000 is the last amount that you don't have to pay taxes on!!!!Oh my, oh my this is my lucky week!!!!

lucky?

I felt lucky when I got to tag along on date night with these two(Ry was at his big bro's bachelor party). Don't worry though we called him a few times. He almost put me on hold to pick up a call from Matt on the other line, but wised up and kept talking to me.

Then after a night of fabulous sill pranks(we love you Camie) we decided to hit the gas station for some of my favorite "crunchy ice" the lady was a little snippy because she thought I thought I would get the ice for free(those cups cost money you know) but we smoothed things over with her and I bought a scratcher...cuz I was feeling lucky...and.....IWON 500 DOLLARS! That's right!

Lucky night indeed:) Here we are with BARB, our new friend who picked me the winning card

A friday to go down in the books: crowns, pumpkins, Jamie getting upset about whiplash and telling the best joke of all time:)

OBX family pics 2010

OBX 2010 beach trip: part 1

We just got home from our family trip back east to the outer banks(OBX). We left the day after hurricane Earl hit and so we were nervous about the weather...but there was not one cloud in the sky and not one rain drop the whole time we were there. We might go in hurricane season more often:)

We arrived when it was dark and woke up the next morning to this...Dylan could not stop staring at the ocean
Dallas could not get enough of riding waves in the ocean. He was a fish this year and even went out when there was millions of jellyfish.

Dylan would not let go of this coke can for an entire day on the beach and even when it was empty he kept pretending to drink from it.

We woke up a few times early to watch the sun rise, it was so beautiful.

took naps

We went to the sand dunes and Dylan hiked all the way to the top...well almost all they way

Here is the view from the top of the sand dunes

at night we hit the town and we rode these race cars twice, the boys loved it.

When it was windy we flew kites

here is the coke can again:)

One night Rachel and Sam let us borrow their girls for a night and we got to pretend they were ours for a night on the town. We didn't have to lift a finger cuz they parented our boys, it was awesome.

Dallas and Ava bonded big time

more with the coke can

Dallas and his skull boogie board

The sisters and Mom

We like to shock Arwen sometimes :)

These two were inseparable like always
We tried to get a good group shot of everyone, and funny thing the funny faces picture is the one that turned out best because in all the others Dallas and Win and Sam are making funny faces anyways.

Here are 4 of the 7 boys

We had such a great time and are missing everyone already.
