bird brain

Today I got both of the boys down for a nap and was looking forward to some quality alone time to do all sorts of things.....but instead I spent 3 hours trying to get this d**** bird out of my house. There is a reason that "bird brain" is an insult. This bird spent a good hour right above the open door....then flew to another window right near an open door. He even spent 15 minutes sitting on top of the door trying to figure out how to get outside.

On a positive note though, the kids kind of liked having a bird in the house, next time they are really bored I might wish this bird would come back!

He did it....

Hallelujah! Big D made it through church yesterday....and was good the whole time!! This is a huge deal (you have no idea). Ryan was so excited when the teacher told him Dallas was good he called his parents on the way home....and Ryan's Dad pretended to be the garbage man on the phone to Dallas(we told him we threw away lightning McQueen and Chick after he was really naughty in church a few weeks ago, and if he was good at church the garbage man would bring them back). So, just as promised, the garbage man dropped them off on our doorstep:) This is his excited face after he got them back. Even if this was just a fluke that lasted one week, we are still sooooo happy and proud of him.

Time flies...

This little monkey is almost 1, I really can't get over how fast this year has gone. It seems like every year that passes goes by a little faster. I wish I could freeze time and keep him at this age forever...but since I can't...I look forward to what this next year will bring.

Don't pinch me......

I made sure the boys wouldn't get pinched today.......Happy St. Patty's day!

A visit from Grandma and Grandpa

We just had a fun visit from Grandma and Grandpa Thorne. We had so much fun! I think Grandma read Dallas about 100 books, maybe more. We went to a spring training game and Dallas kept telling Ryan and I to "go away, Im with Grandma and Grandpa". Thanks for the visit Grandma and Grandpa!!!

Not that Innocent

These are some pictures we took with Dallas right before church on Sunday....he was being so sweet and innocent and was so excited to go to church......if only it lasted.

Every week is the same thing...he is so excited to go to church and is sweet right up until the moment we enter the church doors. As soon as we walk through those doors it is like a switch goes off and this kid turns into a major problem child. Every week while we are teaching our class we think we can hear him screaming in the hall. We have random people come up to us always that say, "Dallas sure had a rough day today". Ryan usually says, "We know, he has a rough day every week". When his new sunbeam teachers asked us if he had any alergies I said, "nope, just church".
We don't know what to do, he is kind of getting a little bit of a reputation at church. It literally takes a small village to keep him under control in primary. I'm just glad that I have a good friend in the presidency who sees him outside of church and knows he really is a sweet kid .

get a leg up

This is Dylan's favorite position to be in. FOR REALS.... he spends a big part of his day just like this, doesn't sit, lay on his tummy or back, just sticks his leg in the air and chills......Love it!
